Lockdown has been extremely difficult for everyone and our young people have not been exempt from that difficulty. This new blog is a question and answer session with some of our young people. Through this we hope that by sharing their experiences and feelings they will help other young people to realise that they are not alone in what they are feeling and that their is support out there for them.

Ryan kindly offered to share his feelings and how lockdown has been for him to allow other young people to hear them.

What are you missing most I am missing my family, talking to them, staying with them and going out to restaurants with them like we used to do before this lockdown.

What are you looking forward to after lockdown I am looking forward to being able to go and visit my family, my good friends and going to Ibrox with my Auntie Jodie.

How are you coping with lockdown A few weeks ago I was really down and wasn’t coping with lockdown, I really felt alone and isolated being in the house and not seeing family, but I am getting there now with the support of my Mum.

Do you have support – Yes, my Mum has been a great support by speaking to me and trying to change things that mean I am not feeling as low as I did. I know I can speak to her about my feelings.

Are you aware of other support that is out there – Yes, GYIP are really supportive, Kevin has been on the phone speaking to me and asking how I have been coping. Georgie from Action for Children(Lifelink) has been very supportive, giving me one to one assistance chatting to me and ensuring I am safe.

Any other comments you would like to make – Ryan is currently looking at helping other young people with their mental health, he is currently working with Lifelink to hand out leaflets as well as a football, the leaflet will give information on where young people can get help and support.
