The objectives of GYIP are to advance education and aid the relief of poverty particularly among those aged 5-25 within the G51 post code area (regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religious belief or racial group) GYIP also provides support, information and advice to young people while empowering them to contribute to the development and regeneration of the local community. Education carried out by GYIP aims to be informal yet highly informative and honest so young people gain a clear and factual understanding of particular topics, for example alcohol, drugs, employment. 

GYIP has been in operation since 1994, and has established itself as one of the most experienced non-profit organisations in the area.  In order to spread the benefits of it's knowledge and experience, GYIP set up GTS (GYIP Training Services) to provide training for the voluntary sector on a wide variety of areas, and is highly regarded in this respect.
